ABOUT / OUR TEAM / GEORGE ROBERTS

George Roberts

Chief Development Officer

What George is Saying
What I learned a very long time ago is that development in any business needs to be centered around people. Everything else takes care of itself.

My job title is a little weird. It's not a very common one. But it fits what I do.

I cut my teeth in this business as a programmer. A web developer. As such, when I co-founded Crucial, my title became “Chief Development Officer.”

As our business has evolved, my role within the company has grown, but my job title has deliberately remained the same. We are constantly “developing,” and I embrace my role as “Chief Developer.”

“Development” in our company has many meanings, and all of these meanings help to shape our clients’ experiences with us.

In order of importance:

  • We develop people.
  • We develop relationships.
  • We develop ideas.
  • We develop web sites.

I know in my bio I should be telling you about how wonderful I am, and letting you know all of my achievements and interests. The truth, however, is that I wouldn't be “me” without this company and the people we serve (and “develop”) everyday.

My passions are easy to lay out for you:

  • I am passionate about my family.
  • I am passionate about people.
  • I am passionate about learning.
  • I am passionate about improvement.

What I learned a very long time ago is that development in any business needs to be centered around people. Everything else takes care of itself.

My role is to help develop better people & solutions. The better our people (including myself), the better solutions we provide. Better solutions translate to happier clients. Happier clients lead to more clients.

We are not the “best” or most talented team out there. However, I defy you to find a company that cares more about their clients. My job is to channel this passion into results.

I love waking up in the morning, and I love what I do. It is a privilege to be able to do what you love every day. It is unbelievably rewarding to be part of a company that not only puts food on my table, but also leaves me feeling as though I am helping others.
